CTE Pathways: Connecting High School to College and Career
Career and Technical Education courses help you get started on your pathway to success.

Program Description
Students will develop an understanding of the creation, execution, transmission, and evaluation of commercial messages concerned with the promotion and sales of products ad services. Students will develop an understanding of basic marketing principles and training for entry-level job positions in the exciting, constantly changing service fields of advertising and display.

You Will Learn
  • Advertising theory.
  • Marketing strategy.
  • Advertising copy/art, layout and production methods, and media relations.
  • Concepts of market identification and about creativity in the promotional industry.
  • Types of promotion and types of promotional media.
  • Appropriate and productive use of display space, television, radio, and newspaper.

Student Leadership Organization
DECA is the student leadership organization for marketing students. DECA is an organization that promotes leadership development, service to the community, and vocational understanding.

There are a number of options for education and training beyond high school, depending on your career goals.
